Hammers scout Leeds midfielder

leeds Hammers scouts went to watch 20-year-old Leeds midfielder Alex Mowatt in action against Wigan on Saturday according to the Sun on sunday.

The young midfielder is regarded as one of the most promising talents in the Championship being named Championship player of the month last November.

It is unlikely that Leeds United manager  Neil Redfearn would want Mowatt to leave, but if a significant transfer fee was tabled by West Ham, a move could happen.

Mowatt is currently an England Under-20 international but is also wanted by Scotland. Mowatt, was born in Doncaster, qualifies to play for Scotland through his father’s side of the family.

A Hammers source told ClaretandHugh: “We are watching up to 50 players at any one time.!”
