West Ham are scouting two Championship defenders, according to a new report from Football League World.
The outlet reports that the Irons are keeping a close eye on potential defensive reinforcements and have been making checks on the pair even before Angelo Ogbonna sustained his ACL injury at the weekend.
Ogbonna could be out for the rest of the season but we have reported previously that there is not much chance of the Irons dipping into the January market to buy a new defender given that there is cover in the form of both Craig Dawson and Issa Diop.
Still, FLW reports that the Hammers have sent scouts to watch Middlesbrough’s Dael Fry and QPR’s Rob Dickie.
Fry has been with Boro since 2015 and has made 149 appearances for the club; the 24-year-old is also a former England U21 international.
By comparison, Dickie is 25 and has become a regular this season, making 17 appearances in the Championship and scoring twice; he has been around the block and only joined QPR in 2020 from Oxford United.
