Hammers seat sales soon underway

West Ham are close to organising how fans will buy their seats to keep as a permanent reminder of their old Boleyn home.

ClaretandHugh has learned this morning (Wed) that the club will be dismantling the seats after the final game and those who have sat in the same seat for years will either be allowed to collect it for a fee or have it delivered.

No price has been revealed but sources are claiming they will be sold at around £70.

A spokesman for the club told us: “All the plans are in place and we will be revealing costs and all the rest of the details on line very soon.

“It’s not an entirely straightforward operation as the back and bottom of the seat has to be remove from the bits of fittings.

“We will be providing the back nd seat itself and it would probably be preferable if they were collected from the club although we would expect to also put delivery plans into effect for those who can’t manage that.”

Where will any left over seats be sold ?
What about the dug out seats ?
What about the other items ?

  • Mr Kebab says:

There’s going to be a big auction for all the most interesting items some time this summer, they are organizing it now.

re: the seats i expect plenty will be available to buy.. I cant imagine all season ticket holders will buy theirs, then theres the thousands of other seats and even the away section – seats aplenty

I am going to buy our seats but have no idea what I will do with them once I have them at home. Possibly erect a little framework so on match days when we are away and on the box we can all sit in them in the living room and recreate a little Upton Park atmosphere.

  • Stinger says:

Again our owners proving that all they care about is Money Money Money.

No need to sell the seats at all, just offer them up as a thank you to all season ticket holders. All that is going to happen now is thousands of fans will just try and rip the seats at by hand.

As for selling them for up to £70. Pathetic. Even a tenner is taking the right royal ****.

  • PennsylvaniaHammer says:

A total mickey take. They’ve (understandably) milked the living daylights out of this last season thing. It’s not as if the seats are even that special. Maybe back in the wooden seat day I could understand it, but for a piece of faded old plastic?

A tenner, with proceeds to the Bobby Moore charity, would have been appropriate.

Now that makes common sense. Great idea. Everyone then is a winner and happy.

Btw all seats not sold will be destroyed, so they really have zero reason other than sheer greed to be asking for daft amounts.

This was talked about on another forum, pretty much everyone has said they will now try and kick their seat out or find other ways to get it.

  • bubs says:

Any of you out there who do not want to have your seat don’t destroy it if you can get it out there will be lots of fans like myself interested and would give the money to charity or yourselfs
Thanks Hughand could you put something on the sire when the venue and auction date is sorted
Good luck all of you who get your seatsiundertand how you feel,I think the club has missed a chance here to buy some great good feel factor from us all and if they had screwed there loafs they could have done it and still made money,
