Hammers second in sustainability table

West Ham have been judged to be joint second in sustainability of all twenty Premier League clubs.

The Hammers scored 7.5 out of 8 putting them second place along side Newcastle United, Brighton and Hove Albion.

Electricity provider to London Stadium is from 100% renewable resource.

No parking available, public transport advocated.

Plastic straws, stirrers & cutlery removed from operations & nine water fountains installed across London Stadium to encourage refill. Trialling reusable cup, part of #passonplastic

Operates zero-waste-to-landfill status, sending all plastic, cardboard, wood, paper, aluminium, pallets and ink cartridges for recycling & all food waste to anaerobic digester.

95% of the stadium’s urinals are waterless, all podium toilets & landscape irrigation supplied by reclaimed water. Sinks have sensor activated taps or percussion cap taps.

Vegan burgers and pies available.

The only area West Ham were marked down on is having no sustainability or environmental page on the club website, some information communicated in club news and through third party websites as stadium being owned by LLDC.

  1. that should make 0.001 percent of supporters happy.
It will be even more efficient when we get 15,000 people turning up in the championship.

  2. See, 1st class energy saving in a 1st class stadium. 😀
