Hammers send scouts to South American nation

|

West Ham have sent scouts to Brazil, according to a new report.

Canal do Pedrosa, via Sport Witness, reports that the Irons have headed to the South American nation to meet all of the top clubs in Rio de Janeiro.

Hammers head of recruitment Rob Newman is said to have visited Vasco da Gama, and it is said that the club are aiming to create a scouting network in the city.

Along with meeting with representatives from Vasco, Hammers scouts are also said to have spoken to reps from Flamengo, Fluminese, and Botafogo.

There have been a variety of top players in the Premier League that have emerged from Rio, so it makes total sense for the Hammers to be eyeing players from the city.

Sport Witness carries a list of them: Fabinho, Richarlison, Lucas Paquetá, Douglas Luiz, Diego Carlos, Philippe Coutinho, Andreas Pereira, Lyanco and Thiago Silva.

If the Irons can unearth another star, this is absolutely worth it.
