Hammers set for another financial windfall

The Hammers will pick up another €1,500,000 for their involvement in the quarter finals of the Europa League tournament.

So far the club has earned around £10 million from taking part, group league victories and a draw and advancing past the last 16 and are now looking at beating Lyon and hitting the competition’s financial big time.

A win over the Ligue One  outfit would see us advance to the semi finals where a further €2.4 million becomes available whilst a place in the final guarantees €€4,500,000 for the runners-up and €8,500,000.to the winners.

It’s big incentive by itself for the players who have all had clauses written into their contracts guaranteeing decent bonus payments on their involvement and success.

We remain favourites to beat Lyon with Barcelona clearly favoured to beat Eintracht Frankfurt which were it to work out that way would set up  the most massive match in West Ham’s history were the Catalan giants to beat the Bundesliga outfit in their quarter final.

In the other two quarter finals Leipzig take on Atalanta and Rangers are away in the first leg to Sporting Braga.
