Hammers set for first January signing

According to reports in Denmark, Silkeborg IF defender Frederik Alves will get his long-awaited move to West Ham next month. Alves has played his last game for the Danish side and has already said his goodbyes to his teammates.

Previous Danish reports claimed that West Ham have already agreed a £1.2m deal to sign the Silkeborg defender. The 20-year-old has also agreed on personal terms and will join the Hammers in the January window.

In October Silkeborg announced that they are negotiating a sale for central defender Fredrik Alves Ibsen with an unnamed club.

The 20-year-old from Denmark with a Brazilian background was spotted by an agent and taken to Coritiba Foot Ball Club as 15-year-old.
After two years in Brazil Alves returned to his native Denmark joining up with Silkeborg IF.

Initially joining the Academy on 1 one year training contract in the summer of 2018 Alves went on to sign a five-year contract in June 2019 contracting him until 2024.
