Hammers set to face their PL bogeyman

Cristiano Ronaldo’s return to Manchester United means the Hammers are set to take on their Premier League bogeyman this weekend!

The Portugal international moved to Old Trafford in one of the most sensational transfers of the summer window.

He made his debut against Newcastle at the weekend and scored twice in a 4-1 win.

Ronaldo, it must be said, has a genuinely superb record against the Hammers.

The former Real Madrid and Juventus superstar has made a total of seven appearances against the Irons and has scored five goals, while also laying on one assist.

He has been on the pitch when the Irons have beaten United, twice in 2006/07 and once in 07/08.

However, his last three outings against the Hammers have been wins: 4-1, 2-0, and 1-0.

Of course, the Irons will hope that defender Kurt Zouma will be able to lock him down during his potential Irons debut, but if he is not deemed fit enough, there is the nightmare scenario of Craig Dawson man-marking one of the most prolific attackers in history.

Let’s hope that Zouma’s fit, and Ronaldo draws a rare blank against the Irons.

As DiCanio said when asked whether he thought he should have been awarded a penalty against them at Ild Trafford, if their player had pulled out a machine gun, shot him multiple times, then it’s possible he might have been awarded it but even then….
