David Moyes is apparently likely to look elsewhere than Tomas Vaclik for Lukasz Fabianski’s successor.
The 34 year old Sevilla keeper, who is having an outstanding Euros with the Czech Republic, was again in top form for the team as they entered the last eight with a 2victory over the Netherlands.
He made one exceptional save and several excellent interventions as his team battled to a convincing 2-0 win and, as a free transfer later this summer, looked a player for whom the Hammers would do well to move.
However, sources inside the club tell us that he would be an obvious contender but for very fragile knees which saw him miss 14 games last season and a total of 122 days over the past three.
We were told: “He’s a very good keeper but that is clearly a worrying situation and would put any potential move in doubt.”
As a result the Hammers are likely to look in other directions after being lined with Sam Johnstone at West Brom.
Sam Johnstone has the right agent.
