Hammers shareholder piles on the pressure

West Ham’s decision to appoint a technical director came apparently after pressure from billionaire Daniel Kretinsky.

Former well informed Hammers correspondent Jack Rosser now writing for The Sun, has revealed that the second biggest shareholder, with 27.5 per cent,  felt the move had to be made.

The Czech had argued that some alignment to the football operation was needed at the London Stadium but is now probably unhappy at the position between new man Tim Steidmen and David Moyes.

And he added that whilst Moyes is in danger of being undermined by a lack of strategy from above, the Scot wanting to keep very close tabs on all transfer decisions doesn’t help.

Despite it being known that Rice was on his way a year ago we have seen a total scattergun approach during this summer’s window.

Rosser declares: Sullivan is known for getting deals done and must move quickly to secure the support Moyes  needs, otherwise the commendable backing from the board at the end of last season will go to waste.”

All this talk of Scamacca struggling. Pretty decent return from the limited time he was match fit. Goals in Europe. Even on the pre-season games recently he looked like he was adapting to Moyes’ counterattacking “style” of play. Why selll a very good player. Look what Man U have just done. Similar style player without the experience. Seriously doubt they will be selling him at a big loss this time next year. We need a squad. Stop selling now! If we can’t tempt anyone new onboard don’t deplete the squad any further – especially by selling our better players. Just look at who is trying to sign him. They aren’t in the market for journeymen. Whoever is in charge (God knows! ) lift your head and give it a wobble.

100% right to appoint a DOF. Moyes has cost the club millions in revenue by making poor signings and by playing systems that dont suit the team. The club now need to back the DOF and not Moyes.
