Hammers slam door on Man U again

Reports this morning that West Ham have not fully closed the door on an Issa Diop transfer to Manchester United couldn’t be further from the truth.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is known to be an admirer and agents tested Mario Husillos on Hammers resolve to hold on to the central defender a couple of weeks ago.

At that time the Hammers firmly resisted all advances and absolutely nothing has changed despite reports today from French newspaper L’Equipe that United are still focused on the young Frenchman.

The ‘paper says it would be hard to imagine United bidding lower than £50 million but the Hammers  have made it clear to CandH they will be slamming the door on Solskjaer and any other club.

A Hammers source told us by e mail: “Nothing has changed whatsoever. We have no desire to sell Issa Diop and for the record -given he has been regularly linked with them – Declan Rice either. They will not be leaving.”

It is further explained the Frenchman will not push for a move away from a club who trusted him last summer, but will no doubt ‘observe the progress of discussions with interest.’

  1. Great news if true, how though bearing in mind FFP can we afford the 2 strikers linked at around £60m ? We have spent supposedly £29m on Fornals of a budget of with players sales £40 -£45m depending on which report you believe.
