Hammers slap fee on striker

West Ham want £12 million from Valencia if they are to allow Javier Hernandez to move to Spain this winter.

The Spanish outfit remain keen on the striker but are pushing for a loan deal which the Hammers have already made clear they are not interested in granting.

And that  falls into line with stories we have run on CandH where insiders having told us several times in the past few weeks that no player will be allowed out on loan.

And now according to The Mirror the Irons have drawn up a shortlist of strikers with whom they are n to speak , should as expected, Marko Arnautovic leave the club this winter.

According to Mirror Sports Editor Matt Lawless – a Hammers fan -one of those is Bournemouth’s Callum Wilson.

It figures that the Hammers want a permanent deal for Hernandez in order to use the fee received plus that for Arnie to cover the likely £50 million fee.

Even should Manuel Pellegrini be looking elsewhere he is set to have the funds available should both Arnie and Chicharito be moved out but obviouusly a loan wouldn’t be of any use at all.

  1. Ridiculous…

  2. Thats less than we paid for him, he should be worth £20m or more of anyones money.

  3. I think the problem might not be paying the fee we set, but the buying club being able to afford his wages, which I think are around £130,000 per week currently?

Still, if he wanted to go, he’d presumably consider a pay cut to make it happen…

Shame though – I don’t think we’ve seen the best of him.
