West Ham are hopeful that Michail Antonio will be passed fit for tomorrow night’s match against Arsenal but we can reveal that he could have been the one who got away in the summer.

Speculation that Crystal Palace were keen on the him has been confirmed to CandH who were ready to swoop had William Zaha been sold.

The Palace winger had been fully expected to move on to Everton but the expected £30 million move finally broke down.

And that was because the Irons had absolutely no interest in selling Mikey when a £30 million offer for him arrived from Palace within the last two days of the window.

Roy Hodgson was ready to let Zaha go after The Toffees made their move and the Hammers talisman was always his choice to replace him.

But having bought Sebastien Haller, Manuel Pellegrini had no interest in allowing the 30 year old to leave despite there being strong rumours that he was not Antonio’s biggest fan.

A decision on his involvement in tomorrow night’s match against Arsenal at the London Stadium will be closed close to kick off time.
