Hammers speak on Lingard’s hopes

|

Jesse Lingard’s hopes of getting a Hammers gig are currently very much in the mix according to  what Claret and Hugh hears coming out of the London Stadium.

High raterNothing’s impossible of course and the Irons manager and backroom staff have been assessing him as he trained at the club.

He is of course known to be a favourite of Davis Moyes but his spell at Forest after turning the Hammers down hardly worked out at all.

Now he is back with the Hammers for the time being and obviously exercising minds given he is a free agent at this stage of his career.

However as other positions need filling more urgently than midfield following Alvaraz and Ward Prowse’s arrival, the wages may be better spent elsewhere.

We asked our key contact what the chances of him joining were and he exclaimed. He will need to show an awful lot in training.”

The way he treated us in two consecutive transfer windows, Lingard should not be allowed any where near our club in any capacity whatsoever. Just another damning indictment of Moyse’s (mis-)management. Hopefully they will both be gone sooner rather than later.

I am torn on this one. If it wasn’t for his six months of good football, I would say no. The way he treated us last year was very poor. However, he may provide a spark off the bench, and he does work well with Moyes. It’s a gamble if (big if) he could do it again.
