West Ham have denied stories they are pursuing Lyon’s Algerian winger Rachid Ghezzal who was linked with us in the morning media.
The idea that we could possibly be interested in yet another wideman seemed quite ridicuous to us at ClaretandHugh but given that club president Jean-Michel Aulas is quoted as saying precisely that we thought it best to check it out.
According to L’Equipe Aulas said: “He wants me to talk to his advisers, and I will call them this week to break the deadlock. It would be great if we can reach an agreement, but we have received offers for him from West Ham.I know Rachid doesn’t want to leave Lyon so we have to find an agreement, as this situation is neither good for him nor for the club.”
But our top source inside The London Stadium categorically denied any bid for the player saying: “They will have their own reasons for putting out such a story but there has been no bid from West Ham United. I think most would agree we have enough wingers!”
Shame because he is a very good player and left footed unlike most of our new signings, I can’t see why the president would say they have received a bid for him when they haven’t, the same president allegedly said we had bid £42.1 million for Lacazette what’s the story with that one Hugh do you know ?
We have signed 3 players who are left footed.
Ayew, Töre and Masuaku.
Surely we could safely add another winger… or 2 maybe?…3..??…Just as long as he’s not a right back – Heaven Forbid! – Perish the thought!
Wingers apparently make good fall backs ?
Or the other way around,
This is all bolloxs ! Lyon are using us to sell to Marseille and forcing their hand ?
Evidently he is the best c/h winger in the buisness ? Lol.
