Hammers Squad confirmed

SquadThe Hammers have sent their 25 man squad list to Premier League ahead of the 5pm deadline today. Well we say 25 but they could only manage 24 names as five players considered for first team action are under 21 so are not included.

West Ham United’s Premier League squad is as follows: Amalfitano, Carroll, Cole, Collins, Cresswell, Demel, Downing, Jaaskelainen, Jarvis, Jenkinson, Kouyate, Lletget, Noble, Nolan, O’Brien, Reid, Sakho, (Adrian) San Miguel Del Castillo, Song, Spiegel, Tomkins, Valencia, Vaz Te, Zarate.

Diego Poyet, Ravel Morrison, Dan Potts, Elliot Lee and Reece Burke are all classed as U21 Players for the 2014/15 season and therefore do not need to be included in the 25-man list, but remain eligible for selection.  Thirteen of the 25 are classified as being ‘homegrown’ players.

  1. Squad looks strong for top ten but not top six

  2. Counted the squad more than once and there’s only 24 names there. Therefore room to bring in an out of contract player or a further signing in January. Subject, of course, to FFP!

  3. Top ten definitely attainable with that squad, my fear is and yes…. it’s him…. Based on the way the team fell back to old ways last weekend i can’t see BFS being able to take us to the heights being aimed for.

Whether the shameful performance last Saturday was down to BFS returning to type or a lack of player confidence, he is responsible for both.

As long as he stays in charge I honestly think we will have to settle with, hopefully, higher levels of bottom half of table, which considering the backing he has received from the Board in the transfer window should be unacceptable.

I would also be concerned that any chance we may have of holding on to some of our better players (Reid, Morrison, on-loan Song for example) will be greatly reduced should Sam remain in charge.

But yeas a good squad that SHOULD do well and provide entertainment.

  4. do you know why Reece Oxford is not on our official PL Scholar list with the rest of the Development & Academy Squad. Is he too young-schoolboy?

  5. Reece Oxford is still 15 so on school boy forms, he needs to turn 16 before he can become a scholar
