West Ham first-team players not involved in the Euros will report for duty this morning for pre-season training.
The squad minus Declan Rice, Tomas Soucek, Vladimir Coufal, Andriy Yarmolenko and Łukasz Fabiański will arrive at Rush Green today for COVID testing and fitness tests.
West Ham United players will be thoroughly tested, scanned and assessed on their return to Rush Green for pre-season training. The Hammers will undergo cardiac screening, which checks the rhythm of the heart, as well as blood tests and weight and body fat measurements.
They carry out an ultrasound of the heart and a series of blood tests, looking at inflammatory markers in the blood or mineral markers, such as vitamin D.
A musculoskeletal screen looks at the range and motion of the muscles and joints.
Players will then put through fitness tests in the gym and look at power tests and jump tests to see how the players are performing after their extended break.
The squad and backroom staff will then fly out to Scotland next Sunday for a summer training camp at St Andrews. The squad will play Dundee FC on Friday 9th July before their return to London on Saturday 10th July.
