Cheikhou Kouyate has signed a five-year contract which will keep him at the club until 2021.
The brilliant midfielder has been a well known target for Spurs but Chiek has chosen to agree terms with the Irons as they make rapid steps into the top bracket.
The contract was announced in a statement on the club’s website, in which Kouyate said: “I am happy to have renewed my contract with West Ham.
“I am very happy and would like to thank everybody here at the club, the manager, the fans and also my parents. I think that it is the start of the next chapter for us to go on and discover the new Stadium.
“It means that the Club trusts me and that means a lot for me. There is a lot of work for me still to do and I need to continue working hard and prepare for the move to the Olympic Stadium and most of all to keep on entertaining the fans.”

Another great bit of business by the owners. Getting the spine of the team tied to long term deals. 2 or 3 signings over the summer and who knows what this team can achieve.
Every week this club takes another step in to the future

Yes we need the special players like Payet and Lanzini and we need the workers like Noble and Obiang but to tie the 2 togeather you need a Kouyate
