Hammers starlet signs for four more years

Exciting young defender Ben Johnson has signed a new deal with the club which will keep him with us until 2022.

Claret and Hugh revealed soon after his impressive first team debut at Manchester City he and his representatives were in talks with the club.

And today it has been revealed the right back – who can play on either side as demonstrated in Manchester – has agreed a four year deal.

It’s great news for the club who have now agreed deals with Johnson, Declan and Grady Dangana over the last two or three months.

It confirms the view inside the club that the youngster who has an outsanding football pedigree is a genuinely middle and long term Premier League prospect.

Former Tottenham Hotspur and England defender Ledley King is his young Ben’s cousin, while former Queens Park Rangers Mancheser United and England defender FIFA World Cup semi-finalist Paul Parker is his uncle.

On signing his new deal Ben told www.whufc.com: “It’s great. First of all, I want to thank God for blessing me with this opportunity, to be playing football at this massive Club. Extending my stay here is fantastic news for me and my family.”

He added: “It has been a whirlwind (since making my first-team debut). I found out that I was playing at Manchester City the day before.

“I was nervous straight away, but then I felt calm and ready to play, told myself I deserve to be at this level now. I’ve kept working hard each and every day and hopefully there are more opportunities to come.”
