Hammers starting X1 named…Toon’s Wilson on bench

West Ham boss David Moyes has selected the same starting 11 for the match against Newcastle as has started four successive Premier League games.

There is good news for the Irons in that Callum Wilson does not start for the Geordies after scoring 12 goals in 13 games against us and is instead on the bench.

The official West Ham site, meanwhile, reminds us that we have scored in seven of our ten games this season and another today would match the start of the 1968/69 season, when Ron Greenwood’s side scored in their first eleven competitive matches.

Newcastle starting XI

Alphonse Areola meanwhile will be looking for a clean sheet having done so against Sheffield United last weekend.

Vladimír Coufal, Kurt Zouma, Nayef Aguerd, and Emerson maker up the back four with Edson Álvarez anchoring the midfield.

He will need to ensure he doesn’t record a yellow card – which would be his fifth of the season – and thus miss the trip to Aston Villa  October 22.

James Ward-Prowse makes his 350th Premier League appearance and he is joined in midfield by Tomas Souček starts and Lucas Paquetá.

Jarrod Bowen has failed to score in seven appearances against Newcastle so will be looking to put that right this afternoon whilst Mike Antonio is fit to start the game.
