Hammers still hot on trail of top target

batshWest Ham remain the favourites to land Chelsea’s misfit striker Michy Batshuayi this summer.

ClaretandHugh undertands that talks are already underway between agents ahead of the transfer window opening and the club remains hopeful of putting a deal together which will persuade him to the London Stadium.

Chelsea are understood to be only interested in making the striker available on a permanent deal and although several other clubs are in the queue for the Belgian front man, the Irons long term interest could be decisive.

The 24 year old is aware of the Hammers keen interest from last summer before he chose to move the move to south west London where he has been kicking his heels on the sidelines.

We were told: “Our interest in the player is very real and well known from last season.”

  1. Would be a great signing, not getting my hopes up just yet.

  2. Yeah he is a talent…
But the fact Monaco are sniffing doesn’t bode well for us.
I hope we do get him… but I’m not going to hold my breath.

  3. There’s lots of twists and turns left in this story, I predict it running on throughout the summer with West Ham eventually missing out and ending up panic buying some clapped out has-been on August 31!

Why can’t they just get on with it and put us out of our misery?

  4. Probably because Man.City have no reason to be in a rush to sell him Michael.Where as we want it done yesterday.Well that is we apart from johnham who thinks he is awful lol

  5. A deal can’t be signed until July 1st anyway so a lot of water to pass under the bridge I would guess this is about as likely as Martial signing for us but would be good if it comes off.

  6. Same old story someone will pop up and snatch him from us even if we are talking to him now,he didn’t want to join us last year,I think he’ll have choices, and will chose the best. COYI

  7. Sorry fellas i had a senior moment last night i was rambling on about Ihaenacho when the story was about Bats .It was late for me lol

  8. We need to sort Kelechi deal which is done except fornissue with Buyback Clause we won’t it higher than £30m bit we need a striker and just have to take the deal and get on with securing 2nd striker. Which I would Like to see Quincy Promes, Timo, or Modeste.
I like Michy but apparently Bilic has reservations. And I think if we get Kelechi our next Striker should be ours hopefully no loan or buy back

  9. Yeah just need to get Kelachi on board and stop quibbling over a few mil. Fair enough it’s s lot if dough but when you consider the amount we wasted on rediculous transfers last year and in Jauary we just have to bite the bullet and get our man. Can’t see Batshuyai coming to us though. He’ll want European football next season I reckon an Monaco or someone else will step up. Read something about Baccs again today! Please God no he doesn’t want to play for us forget human move in. Personally I think we’re crazy to not be making a move for Defoe. I know how he left etc but we’re cutting off our nose in spite but not making one for him imo….
