Hammers striker deal 90pc done

West Ham have this afternoon all but completed the signing of Basel striker Albian Ajeti in a deal which could rise to £11 million with add ons.

The Irons look all set to leave former boss Slaven Bilic bitterly disappointed after West Brom moved in and the player is now undergoing a medical with us before preparing to put pen to paper later today.

Although the deal looked unlikely at one point, the Irons have upped the stakes and the 22 year old now looks on his way to the London Stadium.

It’s will be top business from the club to land a player who scored 15 goals in 35 games for the Swiss side last season and was part of the Switzerland squad that competed in the Nations League tournament at the end of last season.

It’s the signing we have all been waiting for and now gives the squad a much more rounded look with Ajetic, Seb Haller and Chicharito available and Michail Antonio also available through the middle when required.

We understand from a very highly placed source on e mail that the deal is 90 per cent done, that the medical is underway with a fee of £8m plus 3m of ad ons based on PL starts is involved.

  1. I now have that feeling I always get at the start of a season always optimistic until October 😢 ..
Let’s hope my optimism lasts through to at least a cup semi final and last kick of the season when a win would qualify The Hammers for Europe .😁😁😁 !!!!

    • Still think we need to sort it out defensively. Yes, we look offensive………..BUT ship loads of goals. Maybe that will come in Jan !?!?!?!?

  2. ill try to praise board again on this page as was not approved on other so id like to thank the 2 daves for fulfilling their promise of world class squad and stadium within three years once again as a hammer I feel excited at oncoming season as I did b4 payet as I did b4 arnie b4 the piar destroyed moral in squad I now see smiles from our players their enjoying themselves on the pitch and everything has slotted into place nicely so lets all get behind everything westham this could be our season welldone all involved thanks coyi

    • Bbaker.
Good to see someone praise the two David’s for once instead of keep knocking everything they have done.
After all they were the guys that took over the club when it was very vulnerable and not many people wanted to take us on.
Now in the new stadium with a top quality manager and assistant things are looking up.
Slowly building a team to challenge for Europe and a team that can grow as a team and in value.
Hopefully collect some silverware on the way.
      Respect to you
      COYI

      • Agree with you and Carl Bbaker board are doing well, we have got some high earners off the books, replaced with young hungry players, this signing might allow us to get Hernandez off the books to a European club, all seems positive, with Ben Johnson looking like a future right back we just need a viable option at left back and the next few years if we can keep MP could be the best we have known since 85/86 will not read anything into early season without Fabianski but hope for the best nevertheless COYI!!!

        • Mooro…Chich is a natural poacher and goal scorer with all his prem goals from inside the 18 yard box..but don’t fit MP’s system. .so how is this fella different and fit in .
To be honest I don’t know toouch about him

    • I am happy to give the board credit for the past 16 months, they are beginning to deliver on past promises. To say that we have a world class stadium and a world class team is a little premature. Although the London Stadium is perhaps a world class multi purpose stadium, I don’t think it can be a world class football stadium until the seats move closer to the pitch. As for a world class team. We finished 10th last season and aren’t playing in any European competitions so I think world class is an over exaggeration. Lets see where we are at the end of the season before making that judgement.

What I will say is, since appointing Pellegrini, the board have done a lot of things right which has given us momentum and hopefully we are only going in one direction. If the past 16 months are an indication of how we intend to continue, we will get closer and closer to achieving that statement.

  3. The club feels bigger and more ambitious this season, not because the money they are spending but the age and type of players we are pulling including clearing out deadwood.
Last season we would be taking in all has beens.

Applause to the board and manager COYI👏

  5. What got nothing to say johnham

  6. This fella looks a natural poacher and finisher. Something we’ve been lacking for a long time. It’s something you cannot teach a player. COYI

  7. Agreed to all the worthy praise for the board manager & assistants for going that one bit more to obtain good quality young players with very good pedigrees, however I still think priority should have been a really good DM. I see reports elsewhere that we are looking at someone let’s hope it is true. COY

  8. Whammer. This gu wants to play for us and looks sharp. Hernandez has scored lots of goals inside the box in the past. When was the last time he actually looked interested in one of our games?
