Simone Zaza has declared that a West Ham departure from the club would be a “personal failure” for him.
After failing to score in nine games he was given a boost when coming on as a late sub for Italy against Liechesnstein and said: ” “I did not expect to be called up, there’s no point being hypocritical about it. I needed this boost and I am happy.”
His future in East London is now in serious doubt with his agent father Antonio having said he was ready to listen to offers, especially from Napoli.
Zaza told Italian TV: “Napoli are a great team and I have already been fortunate enough to play for Juventus, so I am proud of that, but I am focused on breaking my duck and playing well, West Ham are my current club and it would be a personal failure if I was to leave now.”
Nice to hear him be honest about it, makes a refreshing change from all the rubbish you normally hear. I really want him to be successful but I doubt unless Juve change the loan deal so he can play more games before we commit that he will get the chance.
