Hammers surprise at PL’s player testing “own goal”

|

Don’t expect to see scenes like this games resume

West Ham and other clubs are surprised the Premier League has not decided to use testing kits to discover whether players have already had coronavirus.

Currently the Premier League – who are responsible for player testing – have been conducting only standard Covid ‘examinations.’

However, kits are now available at £125 a time from a Cheshire clinic which discover via the anti gen test whether players have already had the disease.

It is now widely believed that should individuals have been ill with the bug they will not contract it again and with the kits claimed to be 99.6 per cent accurate.

The antigen tests are already privately available for £125 from a clinic in Chesire who send out home kits. They are approved and said to be 99.6% accurate

The test, carried out by a device that pricks your finger for blood, works this out by testing your blood for coronavirus antibodies to see if they have already beaten the virus and gained some immunity to it.
A highly placed Hammers source told ClaretandHugh when we suggested teh PL should adopt the procedure: “Yes, it’s hard to disagree with that given the circumstances. It feels like an own goal.”
