Hammers target at centre of £60m deal

Aston Villa are poised to make another bid to sign Kalvin Phillips from Leeds this summer in a deal that would cost £60m.

That’s according to a new report from the Daily Telegraph, with Steven Gerrard’s side looking to spend big to climb the league table.

Phillips was the subject of an offer from the Hammers in the January transfer window but Leeds resisted attempts to spirit him away from Elland Road.

The newspaper reports that Leeds remain determined to keep the England international and that any deal, for any club, to sign him is incredibly complex.

Leeds look likely to avoid relegation to the Championship but Villa remain keen on signing Phillips and are set to press ahead with a bid.

It remains to be seen if the Irons get involved in the bidding, but any move may depend on the futures of certain key players at the London Stadium.
