Hammers target close to signing: For Leicester

Three weeks is a long time in the transfer market. Back in June, TNT Sports in Argentina reported that West Ham was one of the Premier League clubs with concrete interest in bringing a young Argentine forward to London.  Our piece on 27 June reported that we were interested in bidding for the signature of the 21 year-old Argentine right winger Matius Soule.

The same source today, TNT Sports makes the claim that West Ham have ‘passed’ on the opportunity and he is open now to moving to Leicester instead. Juventus apparently want 30 million euros and the Foxes are planning to bid 25 million plus add-ons: It isn’t just West Ham who try to low-ball their targets, just for those fond of a bit of Sullivan bashing.

In any case I cannot see the need for the Hammers to take an interest in acquiring another left footed, right wing oriented forward: It seems as though we’re pretty rammed in that department and there are other priorities.

And what of rumours on a new, left sided player to rival or usurp Cornet?

Of the left-sided players rumoured to be West Ham targets  in recent weeks i.e. Jayden Oosterwolde and Ryan Sessegnon, both have disappeared from the radar and appear to be headed in other directions. More on Stefan Bergwijn from Simon later.

There is a growing consensus amongst both those who write and those who post comments that our priority has now shifted to the number 9 position. However, don’t underestimate the Tim Steidten visit to Brazil under cover of ‘seeing how Lucas Paqueta is doing’. Corinthians’ Wesley Gassova was a reported target and at 19 years old a right footed, left winger that ‘fits’ the profile more akin to the pearl diving reputation which our management duo seek to grow.  An outside bet for the next ‘Tim’s private jet’ player pics.

From the old Bobby Moore Upper to the Billy Bonds' stand these days I've been watching since '03 and a supporter since about 1970.. Don't take my comments too seriously, imagine we are having a chat at half time over a pint at L S and "let's disagree without falling out".

Hope we act fast and not let Soule join Leicester!!

We need him what a Talent he is. I can still see us going in for him. I don’t believe where just going to allow this to happen. This season we will be playing a 3-4-3 or a 3-4-2-1. Where going to need more wingers/CAM players who can play in both. This deal is going to be a steal from West Ham! We seem to be targeting cheaper Defenders I believe the whole point in bidding for this Nice CB was to force Juventus hand to selling Matthias Soule. I just don’t see us walking away from this deal considering the games we have been playing in order to get this player.

I am started to get fed up with our Management team when it comes to identifying and buying players. Soule was a red hot world class player and we spent ages trying to push his price down. Eventually we walked away and now we have Leicester buying him for less than we offered and we are not interested. We have done the very same thing with Todibo involving big money once again while we have totally ignored super Soulet from Red Bull with an £8million price on his head. It’s taken us at least 6 weeks for our management team to recognise Soule and how brilliant he is. I hope we dont miss out on this guy as well. With the money we are going to save by not buying Torino we can also buy the World Class young lad Soule that Leicester are after and we spent at least one month trying to get his price down, well it is now and so low that even Leicester can afford him or are we going to pass him by after spending all that management time in wasted negotiations??
