Hammers to block Fiorentina swoop

|

obiang1Fiorentina are back on the trail of Pedro Obiang.

The Serie A outfit have been casting envious eyes in the midfielder’s direction almost from the day he joined the Irons but have little or no chance of wooing the player away.

After media reports had surfaced in Corriere dello Sport that he was very much the club’s central January target we were told by West Ham that they were aware the club liked Obiang.

But since breaking into Slaven Bilic’s side this season he has been as good or better than any other individual and we were told  all approaches this winter will be blocked.

CandH was told by a top insider: “He has been patient, waited very professionally and is now proving what a great buy he was. He won’t be leaving.”

Since the start of the season, Obiang has made 12 appearances in all competitions, including playing all four games of the club’s once again short lived attempt to make it to the Europa League group stages.
