West Ham will be in breach of Premier League financial fair play rules unless they sell this summer according to a club source speaking Exclusively to Claret and Hugh this morning.
This means there will be zero summer transfer budget forcing Graham Potter to sell before he can buy any players.
The Hammers budget for an eighth-place finish in merit payments worth up to £3.1m per place and if the Irons finish 17th there will be a £27.5m hole in their budget.
Last season West Ham featured on the box 20 times worth an extra £18.5m but
The same club source has confirmed that the obligation to buy jean Clair Todibo has now been triggered after the Hammers avoided relegation.
The defender loan from Nice included a simple five Premier League appearances clause plus avoiding relegation from the topflight.
The total amount including agent fees is said to be £39m which will need to found this summer.
On the 17th Feb this year you, Sean Whetstone, wrote this:
‘West Ham posted a £57m profit last year after £17m loss the previous season with a £12m profit the season before that leaving a three-year running total of around £52m profit to the end of last May. Considering the PSR acceptable losses are £105m over three years, the Hammers have a £157m buffer zone so the delay potentially benefits them.’
Confused
Old news but imagine GP cant wait to start the sale with all the deadwood he inherited
All this could have been avoided if you lot had left David moyes alone, we won the europa conference league, we got the idea we are bigger than we are, that we should be pushing for champions league but in reality we a mid table team the highest we should reach is 8th maybe 7th, the players have nothing to play for so why play ? we are safe from relegation so again why play?
Kudos and paqueta are going along with many others so why should they play ? It’s not just the board who have lost there way it’s the players and most importantly the FANS
I think Paquetta on £150.000 a week might be a reason to play. What a dope you are
Boring boring boring
I would imagine the Todibo transfer will be paid over a number of years as most are and the whole amount will not count against us for next season
Nonsense!
Our commercial and matchday income pretty much covers our wage bill. So the REAL headline should be that we have “only” £120m to spend next season, instead of the projected £150m! Not, “we might breach FFP rules”… we’re nowhere even close!
It’s about time West Ham fans accept that the glory days were in the 60’s early 70’s. We are a league 1 standard team, and that’s it. The truth always hurts.
Only the Women’s team is worth watching. Why not appoint Rehanne Skinner as the new manager. Even hubby watches them now, along with Southend, our local team. Much cheaper as well.
West Ham needs a new song, replacing ‘I’m Forever Blowing Bubbles’, with ‘Always Look on the bright side of life’.
League one standard team LOL . An average attendance of 62 000 and a team literally full of internationals for the worlds most successful countries.
So what an average attendance of 62,000, an average team of lower league quality. Team full of internationals, you are having a laugh. Accept not good enough for premier league.
I have a dream you cry, we deserve to be, etc etc etc.
QPR standard only in next few years.
Team should be a true London team, with local players, showing London grit and heart.

Support your local Sherrif.
The circus rolls on.. A board of complete incompetence
Crap. West Ham social media stinks of it.
This is the final straw after this disaster of a season. 3 Managers in 12 months yet we still see us concede ridiculous goals with 4 players with their back to the ball at a corner and pay the likes of Danny Ings over £100,000 a week to sit on the bench until his contract runs out. Where is the ambition, the pride and the excitement of supporting the team we are all passionate about? What the hell are they doing in training every day? I would be embarrassed if a Sunday league team couldn’t even defend a corner properly never mind at Premier League level. Always a lifelong hammer but I refuse to renew my ST until we actually get a board who invests significantly in our club and that soulless bowl, plus a team and manager who are good enough to represent this club. Potter was the wrong choice and losing the away fans on Saturday and their support for Fullkrug speaking out was the first signs we have had enough of being taken for mugs and deserve better.
Lies. Get out the club.
Club is not only an utter shambles, it’s a joke. A circus run by clowns and the likes of Whetstone have pushed their agenda for too many years.
Hope you feel the benefits.
We were promised a world class team in a world class stadium, at this point just what is the point of David Sullivan, every promise the board made has been broken. They are a curse on everything West Ham used to stand for. Good luck with the season ticket renewals Sullivan and Brady
Instead, we are going to buy another donkey at centre back .
I honestly never thought things could get worse after Zuma but here we are.
World class players for a world class stadium 😂😂
Everything about this club is bs,Sullivan killed us when we left Upton Park
After the fifty odd million quid bid on Duran debacle I kind of keep thinking we’re taken for mugs.
Ever get the feeling you’ve been cheated ?
I’m no expert but didn’t we make £50 odd million last year and it’s done on an average of 3 years? Plus as stated wages are a big deal but Ings, Antonio, Cresswell, Coufal, Soler, Ferguson all soon dropping away which seems to come to at least £20m per annum. Plus Todibo mentioned but that cost will be spread out over his contract and not taken in one hit. Think at least the site should be challenging it’s sources a bit more.
Finally! Someone with the will (and brains) to actually look up some facts, rather than listen to social media agenda based nonsense.
We’ll get £120m, instead £150m.
Our commercial and matchday income covers our wages, so we have 30m less to spend!… not minus £30m in the bank!
Whether true or false don’t need an article to highlight circumstances within the club.
This will just get the vultures gathering for some lowly bids to a club who are desperate.
Decent replacements are going to be very far and between hardly a place to be with all this confusion.
Question seems to be whose fault, Potter or players?
If latter change of players is not going to solve problem in fact it will probably make things worse.
What will cost be for replacing outgoing players, looking at figures needs to be less than what existing players are sold for
General comments are not overly attractive and not a pretty picture.
Academy players / Wisbaka / Bowen / Guilherme / Summerville look to be basis of next season.
PSR includes wages as well as transfer fees and so given that Westham are paying way too much to players such as Ings , Cornet and Aguerd and many others the bulk of the costs are wages and not transfer fees . Bournemouth turn over less money than Westham but their wages are far far less and so no PSR violations . Very poor recruitment and weak negotiating has meant that Westham pay too much in transfers and wages leading to this PSR problem . A competent DOF to handle both the recruitment and balance the financial side of things is required .
That’s the spirit Wankstone, just post stuff to piss off people.
You are a very narcissistic person, probably comes from your father David Sullivan
What a load of shit, that’s a lie
So absolutely no point renewing my season tickets.
Sell anyone any good and buy a load of dross .
Why would anyone good join this circus after this season.
Probably more comes down to the compensation they have to pay the old manager and his team from another incompetent appointment.. .
Then tell your mate to be prepared for Burnley scenes all over again, the bloke is clueless and the idea that he is in sole charge of transfers this summer is risible, but I guess certain agents will be lapping it up. When’s Callum Wilson and or Calvert lewin being unveiled as the great new strikers for next season?
This is a lie. You know it’s a lie Sean. Please tell Sullivan to stop treating the fanbase like idiots.
Bournemouth’s net spend over the last three years has been significantly higher, and their turnover is significantly lower.
We are in absolutely no danger of breaching FFP rules this summer.
We may have cash flow issues (albeit ones that could be easily resolved by the board putting some of their own capital into the club for once). But we definitely don’t have FFP ones.
Sack the board – fans have heard enough of this codswallop, their book of excuses must be thicker than the bible. They take the fans for mugs, and everyone has had enough. On yer bike Sullivan and take the rest of the Parasites with you!
Sullivan and Co must sell up.
Their car crash of ownership must end.
Constantly pleading poverty with minimal expenditure on the running track is shambolic to say the keast
hi
Even if they sell up we will still be hamstrung by financial fair play rules so won’t able to buy anyone
Were nowhere near the limit . That’s the point Sullivan doesn’t need an excuse to plead poverty yet some supporters fall for it every time .
What utter codswallop………where did the £53million we bid in January go then was that all make believe as well…..get Sullivan Brady Kretinsky and what’s left of the Golds out of our club they are such a bunch of snide grifters out to make money for themselves and themselves only.Just finished the third season of Gangs of London surprised this mob were not in it.
Go sell up go to Cardiff destroy them the way you have us and Birmingham city.
I’m not a Sullivan fan but his only job is a to give the manager money to spend which for the last 3 years he has done. What he’s done poorly is pick the right manager, who in turn have bought poorly. People who say we are a mid table club should look at the clubs that are pushing for Europe. Fulham Brighton Bournemouth, we are miles bigger than those clubs just not run as well
As soon as I saw the headline I knew it was Sullivan oh sorry Sean whetstone writing the headline it’s so bloody obvious. When Sullivan finally sells up what’s whetstone going to do.
Exactly mate…why people renew there season tickets while this lot are in charge makes me laugh….do not hand any of your money over to this lot…how much has Sean got paid to push this rubbish out i wonder….Silkman/Salthouse/Whetstone what a little Cabal of Sullivan go to that they are
