Hammers to face Sevilla

|

West Ham have learned their Europa League opponents and will play Sevilla in the round of 16 of the competition.

The Irons won their group to get this far, winning a pool that also included Dinamo Zagreb, Rapid Wien, and Genk.

And they will now go up against one of the most successful teams in the history of the competition.

The Spanish side have won the competition a record six times and have lifted the trophy in 2005/06, 2006/07, 2013/14, 2014/15, 2015/16 and 2019/20.

The game could not really be much tougher given Sevilla’s pedigree in the competition and they are playing brilliantly in La Liga too, with the club currently second behind Real Madrid and ahead of both Barcelona and Atletico Madrid.

The first legs will be played on the 10th of March and the second legs will be played on the 17th of March.
