Hammers to miss key man ahead of crunch clash

Bad news for West Ham with the Premier League game against Brighton on the horizon. Lucas Paqueta has ruled himself out of the game with a calf injury sustained against Arsenal last night.

We should probably be thankful the injury is not more severe, but the Brazilian used his Instagram to inform followers that he needed one week to heal.

The news will come as a blow to David Moyes, who looks set to be without Mohammed Kudus, who is likely to fly to the African Cup of Nations early. With Michail Antonio still unavailable with a knee injury sustained on international duty for Jamaica, The Hammers have something of a problem in attack.

Manager David Moyes seems unwilling to select Maxwel Cornet, and Said Benrahma poses little threat to defenses these days. So it will be a test of David Moyes’ managerial abilities if he’s to beat a Brighton team who’ll be buoyed following their win against Tottenham.
