Hammers to trigger option in star’s deal

The Athletic reports that West Ham will trigger the option to extend Angelo Ogbonna’s contract by a further year.

And we can confirm that it’s true, as this report comes a massive five months after we told you exactly the same thing!

The website are claiming that the news is their own but it isn’t, as we were told by David Sullivan back in November that he would be offered fresh terms despite the injury he sustained.

He has been absent since November, when we spoke to Sullivan about his future, but he has resumed light training and was in France with the team when the Hammers beat Lyon 3-0 to reach the Europa League semi-finals.

As reported by the website, he is hoping to return to action before the season is out.

And he is set to extend his stay; The Athletic are just a few months behind us on this one!
