Hammers Told to “Pay-up” | Man United Demand Loyalty Payment

Manchester United are determined to make West Ham pay the loyalty bonus due to defender Aaron Wan-Bissaka.

The former Crystal Palace right-back has not officially requested to leave Old Trafford and is therefore demanding the lump sum usually payable for the completion of a contract. Wan-Bissaka has been pursued by West Ham throughout this transfer window and is willing to move to East London.

However, the player is also content to remain in Manchester for the final 12 months of his contract and leave as a free agent. Therefore, the only stumbling block to this transfer appears to be the loyalty payment, which is understood to be around three million pounds.

West Ham believe that if an £18 million transfer can be agreed upon with the Red Devils, then Manchester United should cover the loyalty payment for Wan-Bissaka.

The stalemate has dragged on for three weeks now, and despite reports that negotiations are ongoing, it appears that an agreement is no closer to being signed.

We seem to be in a game of transfer chicken, where someone will need to find an additional £3 million to finalise the deal. Understandably, West Ham are reluctant to pay over £20 million for a player with high wages who will be available for free in 12 months’ time.

The saga continues.

  • Ian says:

So who is the right back that you mentioned we are close to signing in one of your other stories?

    • Jezza says:

I agree but it seems Manures budget is tight so they are desperate to squeeze us as hard as they can. If he decides to stay it will cost them that in wages .

  • HammerRush says:

The “loyalty” he has shown has been to Man U, not us. So they should pay the bonus – if they won’t, tell them to shove it and then walk away and sign someone else. He’s no world beater, just a good player.
Maybe sign Mazraoui and p*** the Mancs off.

    • Kulee Keculah says:

Mazraoui would walk from Asia to sign for United. Know your position in the football food chain.

      • Shafiek says:

They wanne pay for a chip roll & demand a mc. Donald’s burger
        🤣🤣

      • Dave says:

Yet you cant afford him, unlike West Ham so maybe realise your place. United are NOT a top tier club anymore & can’t even honour their contractual commitments (loyalty bonuses etc).

  • LORD ROBERT VENOUR says:

Sounds like a money grabber give him a miss

  • Matt says:

Can see this ending the same way as Maguire!

Man Utd will need money to complete signing the replacement RB from Ajax and another CB. Can’t see them or us paying a multimillion loyalty bonus.

Inter Milan must be ecstatic as they can agree a free transfer in January. Wan-Bissaka will also then get his loyalty bonus, a big signing on fee and improved wages.

  • Charlie Farley says:

None of us really know what’s going on with Wan-Bissaka…..but I’m expecting to see him photographed in a Hammers shirt this week.
I also have a feeling that Duran will join as well, but not for the price Villa want.

    • Ian says:

I hope you’re right re Wan Bissaka. Would love to see him join us.
I can’t see us going back in for Duran now though. Be a nice surprise if we got him though

  • Big Dave says:

Pay no more than 12 mil , Man Utd are not worth dealing with, move on.

    • Matt says:

💯 agree / been burnt once by them. Walk away and sign KWP

    • John Sharp says:

This will just drag on and on and then fail at the death.

He’s a good full back and a brilliant tackler, but has a shocking injury record.

There must be alternatives out there and Steidten’s brilliant scouting set-up should be able to find one.

  • Matt says:

KWP has not played a single preseason game for Southampton as of yet?! 🤔

Still think we have a chance of securing him as the fee probably the same as Wan-Bissaka but at cheaper wage cost implications.

KWP offers much more from an attacking sense and seems a better fit! Could the Wan-Bissaka deal just be a way of reducing Southampton’s asking price?

  • Pete says:

    Flip a coin ffs ⚒️

  • Mike J says:

Another mercenary. Manure must be one of the worst clubs to deal with for transfers. Similar thing happened last year with Harry Maguire if I recall.

  • Nick the Hammer says:

For goodness sake, just go & get Walker Peters!!

  • Thom Ridgeway says:

Can we stop all transfer dealings with Manchester United – not only is the club self important, obtuse and impossible to make reasoned deals with – their players are spoiled and greedy, entitled brats too.

  • Dave says:

Put the £18m on the table as a final offer & offer the same to Southampton for KWP. First to accept gets the cash & the other gets stuck with a dead weight right back they don’t want for 11mths & then loses them on a free.

  • michael cash says:

Let ManUre keep the very average defender and move on.
Demanding we pay their players loyalty bonus shows them for the filth they are

    • Trevor Brooking walks on water says:

Surely the obvious negotiating answer is to split the 3m down the middle. So 16.5m transfer fee. That’s fair. If Man U are not willing to accept that, then move on. The transfer window clock is ticking.

  • Mavded says:

Walk away it’s not our problem.. they are the ones who want to sell him but don’t like the money offered or fact they have to pay a loyalty bonus i certainly do not blame the player here… so lets just go back for KWP and get that deal done and let Manure stew.

  • D.f.butcher says:

Tell em to go do one complete waste of time

  • Ian says:

Don’t blame Wan Bissaka at all. He hasn’t asked to leave and can walk away on a free this time next year.
But ManU telling us to pay his loyalty bonus (IF that’s actually true), is a joke. If it’s also true that they can’t buy Mazraoui without selling Wan Bissaka, then walk away and see where that leaves them

  • John Ayris says:

The bottom line here is that Wan Bissaka can hang around for a year on a high wage then walk away for free. That’s Man Us problem not ours.

We would like the player but as Fullkrug proves there are always other options.

  • Morkus says:

Completely and utterly fed up with bissaka transfer
On no account should we ever try signing a man u player again always hassle
    Bissaja Lingard, mctominey maguire
    Honestly no more

  • My left foot says:

AWB and Dumfries swap deal looks to be back on so maybe we might still get Mazraoui

  • BarrySulkman says:

is the deal being held up because Will Salthouse, Dave Junior & Jack are not satisfied with their cut?

  • Benny the Aussie says:

Maybe we re-sign the lad we sold to Newc a season back lol
Who knows, might be worth a punt

  • Andy Stone says:

Will Tim indulge them or give them the Villa treatment? I suppose it depends on availability of other decent quality right backs at what price but I would prefer to look elsewhere and let them sweat on trying to complete their business for that other fella that I’ve forgotten already.

  • Gary Crews says:

Walk Away! The player has earned over £18.5M in the 4 years he has played for United. If he really wanted to get this sorted he would tell his agent to make it happen. They are all so greedy it makes me despair sometimes. Much rather have a young hungry player eager to make it in the PL
