Hammers want Lanzini tied down fast

manuel-lanzini-west-ham-liverpool_3343611West Ham are today reported to be  speeding up contract talks with Manuel Lanzini fearing Liverpool’s Jurgen Klopp will swoop on him.

The £200 million euros PSG switch for Neymar has apparently increased Barcelona’s interest for Phillipe Coutinho and there has been a long term belief that Lanzini is Liverpool’s favoured replacement should that take place.

Despite him having three years left on his Hammers deal the board have been trying to tie the Argentine down to a new deal.

They are still waiting for him to agree and are now believed to be ready to make this their number one priority whilst apparently keeping an eye on Ross Barkley’s Everton situation.

The Toffees midfielder has no future at the club and could become a loan or permanent target for us should the worst Lanzini scenario unfold.

The midfielder’s absence from the Hammers team since suffering a minor injury during a pre-season game is also  being viewed with some cynicism by fans as the Liverpool story rumbles on.

Since the start of the year the Hammers prioritised handing new deals to three of their best players, Lanzini, Pedro Obiang and Michael Antonio.

Midfielder Pedro Obiang and Michail Antonio have put pen to paper on new long term deals but Lanzini still hasn’t agreed terms

  1. He will stay.
    I’m not worried at all…
We made lanzini the player he is.. he loves the club and he loves the fans.
    Plus zabaleta is here now.
He won’t leave… he seems like a loyal person.

    • I hope you are right WTW. I sure as hell hope we don’t sign Barclay, he was better last season but iverall he is a poor mans Joe Cole, he has the flicks and tricks but rarely any end product, we might as well put Samuelson in the team if we want that type of player. Plus Barclay is reported to be asking for £140k a week wages so I can’t see that sitting well.

  2. With you on that one 32👌 money talks in this game ? Absolutely anything can happen and lanzini isn’t excluded IMO , I hope he stays , I think he will 😉 is he playing today 😎 or still in xxxx😉

  3. The Liverpool blogs are already ranting about they don’t want Lanzini and he’s not half the player Couthino is. They can carry on thinking that way.

I think we should be building a team around him. Last season’s displays made me realise that he’s the best player we have had at the club in years. He clearly loves the club and hope that all this talk doesn’t affect his start to the season.

    • +1 to that cas hopefully that is the point they will be pitching when selling him a new contract.

  4. I think or I hope he will stay. I just think the signings we have made will persuade him to stay because I think he will have an even better season with these players around him. If he does want to leave I would then demand every penny Liverpool receives from Barcelona for Coutino. Personally like West Ham Fan No 32 I sincerely hope we do not buy Barclay, over rated and not what will bring us to the next level. I would much prefer to inform Swansea that we will meet their price for Gylfi if we have to sell our no 10. Saying all this my preference is we keep our current no 10.

  5. I for one am very worried about this Lanzini thing.
The roumours that in hearing is that WHU are trying to offer him 50k a week which if true this is laughable, Lanzini should be one of our top earners and should be easily in the 70-100k
If We offer 50k I feel Manu will have his head turned as he could l feel that the board do not appreciate he’s talent ..

The fact the Klopp want Lanzini to replace coutinho is proof enough that Manu is a top baller and why Gold and Sullivan should should reward him and reflect this in a good offer .

    • I read that now too but when he was offered a brw contract 4-6 weeks ago it was supposedly £70k to bring him on par with Antonio and can go up to £90k w performance based bonuses. And that was in June before we signed Marko and Chicha. I think £50k is off.BC hr had interest before Window even opened and he loves it here and has Zab now just want that deal penned. Bc losing him especially this late would be massive.
But they won’t sell him unless its £60-£80m and think they will go Pulisic before paying that. I don’t see Lanzini requesting leave but I don’t want him to hold us to Ransom for £100k plus. Bc at £30k to £70-90k is more than Fair. And Chicharito needed a striker. Marko I still think 5 year deal was too much and some say £85k some say £100k

  6. We , All want , Lanzini tied down fast . Spend the summer building a squad just to let some richer club tear it down would be disappointing to say the least . Hopefully he’ll stay loyal .
Lanzini is pivotal to our ambitions . Give him what it takes to keep him happy and have done with it .
