Hammers win predicted

Mark Lawrenson is confident of a Hammers win against Sheffield United on Monday evening.

The BBC pundit reckons the Irons – despite some injury worries have enough to put it across the rock bottom club.

The Blades – after a brilliant first campaign – are suffering the most serious case of second seasonitis and are currently bang bottom of the League.

They have managed just three wins all season and are currently 12 points – or four games – from safety.

Despite some injury concerns of their own, the Hammers will be looking for their first win since beating Aston Villa 3-1 in the midlands.

They have since failed to score but in fairness have only conceded one goal in the last two matches which reflects very well indeed on the superbly organised defence.

Lawro seem more confident than at any point this season of three points for the Hammers at the London Stadium and commented in his column: ” Sheffield United keep winning in the FA Cup and they have been really competitive in the Premier League even when they’ve lost – against Manchester City and Chelsea recently, when they went down by a single goal each time.

The Blades will put up a fight this time too, I’m sure, but West Ham are in the top six for a reason. The Hammers look confident at the moment and, if they play like they can do, they will win.

Lawro’s prediction: 2-0
