Hammers youngster plays part in surprise win

Conor Coventry helped the Republic of Ireland U21s to prepare for the Maurice Ravello Toulon Tournament ending the match with a great 2-1 win over the senior national team.

The Hammers youth star Coventry played for 45 minutes as the youngsters in green grabbed a great win over Mick McCarthy’s senior squad, which had a fellow player Josh Cullen, at the FAI National Training Centre.

Scott Hogan gave the seniors the lead after half-time before Jack Taylor grabbed two to turn the game around in the U21s favour.

The squad plays against China in Aubagne on Monday 3 June before playing Mexico in Fos-sur-Mer on 6 June and finally Bahrain in Vitrolles on 9 June.
