“Hands-Off” | Hammers Admit Bids for Wonderkid Guilherme

West Ham have stated that they are unwilling to sell winger Luis Guilherme but have admitted that bids have been made for the player.

The Hammers’ £20m winger was the subject of multiple transfer offers towards the end of the window, and new speculation has emerged suggesting the 19-year-old could return to Brazil.

Even though the Premier League transfer window is shut, clubs in Brazil can still buy players until 28th February. High-flying Brazilian Serie A leaders Botafogo are rumoured to be interested in Guilherme and have the funds due to the backing of billionaire owner John Textor.

However, Claret & Hugh have been informed by a top West Ham source that Guilherme is set to get his chance at The London Stadium, and bids have been rejected:

“No, he’s not leaving. We have decided to keep him despite bids, as we really thought he played well in his last game, and he could still achieve anything at this club. With Summerville out for a while, the lad will get his chance.”

Despite the club’s stance, it’s hard to imagine they would reject the opportunity to recoup their money if a serious offer came in. But until the window finally closes on 1st March, nothing can be certain.

Why should W H. find it hard to reject an offer to recoup the outlay for the lad . another instance of you trying to sit on the fence, without it hurting at some stage. incidentally why do take down quickly any contentious item that may criticise the board , yet leave other items to rot ( C.H. predictions for the LAST MATCH. for example).

Quick Google search shows 32 posts on C&H with wonderkid in the title! These.include multiple posts on Guilherme, plus Ollie Scarles, Callum Marshall Daniel Cummings, Wesley Gassova, Vitor Roque, Eli Junior Kroupi and Ravel Morrison. Although all have talent, no wonder these youngsters often struggle to fulfill their potential when they are given this description and all the expectation, at such a young age.

Guilherme only turns 19 tomorrow and has only played 55 minutes for the first team for goodness sake..As Luke says we brought him for the future let him just be that.

  • HammerDan says:

He’s NOT a Wonderkid whatever that means!!

He’s just a kid, not had many chances. But we should keep him and develop him. Maybe if we get him up to speed, by the time we sell him he’ll go for £75m and we’ll all say what a great signing by Steitden.

And Gonzo you can then say how great Steitden was at ‘pearl diving’ 😉

Talk about flogging a dead horse. Thats two articles today trying to stir things up for Guilherme. You really must do better.

Gonzo and the wonderkid!!!!! He loves it

  • Luke says:

We bought him for the future so let him be just that

  • Mick Bering says:

Everyone could see how good he is except us thank goodness weve woken up

The reality is that every player will improve under Potter as will their transfer values . If the squad value increases collectively by 100 million and some of those are sold in the summer Westham will have a better PSR situation and consequently more money to spend on the Potter rebuild . Bonus is that the football is now entertaining .

Yesterday’s Steidten failure, today’s wonderkid. Next Todibo, another Stediten failure, who’s about to form a great partnership with Kilman (who’s a Lopetegui failure…or is it Steidten failure, or possibly both…). It does have its funny side Gonzo 🙂 Good times ahead under Potts. These players have plenty of potential. The problem was always the managers NOT the players. COYI

I am happy he is staying and Luizao will be interesting to see if Potter can improve them.

    • Esexiron42 says:

Funny I mentioned Luizao earlier. Signed 2 years ago and still not made his first team debut. Apparently 9 Brazilian clubs interested in him, and be interesting to see if Graham opts to keep him.

  • Frank Reed says:

I think he’s 19 tomorrow, happy days saveloy, but the thing is in his last 50 odd games for las palmerous/ Brazil under 18s, he’s managed to score 3 goals. I’m all for giving youth a chance but I reckon there’s a few U18s , U21s that are way in front of this lad😎

  • Joe says:

I’m actually so happy with that! Was getting so cross seeing all this stuff about us selling him, he’s 18, or maybe 19 now, has barely played and will get homegrown to our club which we’ll need! Also he turns out sick on fm lol

  • John Ayris says:

He’s an 18 year old who trains permanently with the first team and that’s an achievement in itself as in the main 18 year olds don’t. Lopetegui sodded his inclusion up is hardly a surprise as he sodded most things up. I’d be very surprised if Potter does as he plays a young player wherever he thinks it beneficial. Let’s just cut him some slack, he doesn’t look too awful when he comes on. The Irn Bru Iniesta isn’t doing too badly is he.

  • Bill Ryan says:

He’s already here we’re not desperate for money just we couldn’t spend due to psr but as we saw like most players under potter he’s a talent and at 18 can only get better we saw a glimpse of what he can do when he left Chelsea players in his dust he could be the new mbape

    • Morty says:

      No pressure then 😊⚒️⚒️

    • Essexiron42 says:

Bill, “he could be the new Mbape”! We all saw glimpses against Chelsea and he’s already called a “wonderkid” in every post about him here. He’s certainly a talent and we all hope he has a great future at West Ham, but he’s only had 55 minutes first team football and turns 19 tomorrow. Really hope he gets another opportunity against Brentford next week.
