Everton boss Ronald Koeman is very keen on West Ham midfielder Pedro Obiang according to a report in the Daily Mirror this weekend. It claims the Dutchman wants Obiang as a replacement for James McCarthy and to provide support for Idrissa Gueye. AC Milan and Sevilla are also have said to have shown an interest in the 25-year-old Hammer but it is Everton who leads the Chase claims the report.
West Ham would like to extend Obiang’s deal, which has two years left to run.
The journalist speculates an offer in excess of £15million could tempt the Hammers as it would turn a huge profit on a player for whom they paid Sampdoria £4.3m two years ago.
I really hope this is fake news. We must NOT sell our young top talent, regardless off how much is offered. If Obiang continues his progress, he has the potential to be one of the top holding midfielders in Europe. Let’s develop this talent and get the rewards. Sick and tired of selling players like Carrick for a fraction of their true value and then see them go on and become pivotal players for other teams.
Don’t sell Obiang- end of.
