Happy Hammer Holland on the mark

Holland1West Ham United enjoyed a debut Premier League 2 London Stadium debut beating  Fulham 2-0 to strengthen their claims for a Division 2 play-off place.

The win saw them into fifth place just two points behind Newcastle and Wolves with Fulham on 34 and runaway leaders Swansea on 42.

Nathan Holland scored with a curling strike from outside the area, his third in as many matches, and substitute Conor Coventry doubled the lead in the final minute of normal time.

The win in front of 1,171 fans at the London Stadium ended an eight-match unbeaten league run for Fulham.

Young Holland – an  England Under-19 international – joined the Irons in a three-and-a-half-year contract last month.

The midfielder, 18, signed his first professional contract at Everton in January last year but did not make a first-team appearance.
