Happy Hammers as Villa take a United thrashing

|

Ole Gunnar Solsjkaer’s Manchester United did the Hammers a huge favour by thumping three goals past Aston Villa tonight without reply to keep the midlanders firmly nailed into the bottom three.

It means that Villa remain four points behind us with a goal diferecnce of 10  worse than ours which is a huge bonus.

They fell behind tonight to a controversial penalty converted by Bruno Fernandes after he had been adjudged to have been brought down.

Greenwood thrashed home a shot bang on half time before Paul Pogba put the game to bed in the 58th minute with Villa looking a very poor side. They now meet Crystal Palace at the weekend before travelling to Everton next week.

Earlier Bournemouth had been held to a 0-0 draw at home against Spurs but remain three points behind us but are eight goals worse off.

The Hammers of course travel to Norwich this weekend looking for a win which could ease any fears of their own very considerably.
