Freiburg 1 West Ham 2
Nayef Aguerd headed home to give the Irons three more points in Group A and but were made to battle.
Despite all the hype surrounding Freiburg before the game, they were very poor indeed in the first half when the Hammers took the lead vii a brilliant Bowen cross and Paqueta header.
The Irons dominated throughout and created several chances which should have seen them go in with a comfortable lead.
However, it was a totally different story after the break when the Bundesliga threw everything at us and equalised through Sallai after Fabianski had pulled off a magnificent double save.
Soon afterwards they could easily have taken the lead when a fine cross came back from the inside of the upright before the rebound was blasted high over the top from close range by Holer.
But with Kudus a constant threat the Ghana international produced a magnificent cross which Nowen headed wide.
However, we took the lead soon after when Aguerd arrived late to head home the winner from yet another brilliant James Ward-Prowse corner.
The Irons should have made it three near the end but Bowen fired just wide after a wonderful Paqueta build-up
