Happy New Year to All West Ham Fans

Wishing all Claret & Hugh readers a very happy New Year after what has been a pretty grim 2025 for West Ham United.

I will not make you feel any worse by rolling out the statistics from the past year. We are all West Ham fans — we know exactly how bad it has been. It also feels pointless going over, once again, what is wrong with our beloved club and how we have ended up in this position.

But a new year brings fresh hope, and in the pursuit of positivity there is, at least, a slim chance that West Ham could climb out of the bottom three with good results in the next two games.

Of course, as our anthem reminds us, dreams can fade and die. But if we are genuinely serious about staying up, then Nuno Espírito Santo’s side should be beating Wolves and Forest.

Finally, thank you for your continued readership from everyone at C&H Towers. Despite what some might suggest, everyone who writes here is a West Ham supporter — and it can be utterly miserable reporting on Groundhog Day defeats week after week. Hopefully, there will be more positive stories to tell in the very near future.

Happy New Year to you all — and COYI ⚒️

Hammers Chat my first game was West Ham 10-0 Bury . . . seriously!
We than went and bought Bury's central defender 😬⚒️ Irons

Started Hammers Chat alongside my partner in crime Geo back in 2014 and brough in to Claret & Hugh by my old mate Hughie to produce videos a couple of years later.

Give West Ham opinions on Sky Sports News and even did a bit of moonlighting on BBC Football Focus.

Sometimes feature on BBC Radio 5 Live and once ate a biscuit in Tony Gales shed.

Connoisseur of salted caramel doughnuts and I love a Sloppy Giuseppe pizza although I'm slightly suspicious where the name came from.

When I'm not moaning about West Ham I can be found walking a dog that looks like a sheep and tinkering with pinball machines.

More West Ham moaning is done on a daily basis here 👇👇

Happy New Year Gonzo. We don’t always agree but I know you care and that is good enough for me. Call me stupid, but I still feel that West Ham are going to claw their way back, I live in hope.

Cheers Gonzo. Thank you all at C&H for this message and I wish all of you at the Towers a very Happy New Year too.

Hopefully by the end of 2026 we will be in the top four of the Premier League or (second best option) 15 points clear at the top of the Championship and looking to retain the FA Cup.

    Ever hopeful. COYI ⚒️ ⚒️

Happy new year, team. Appreciate your efforts in the face of what makes for grim reading at the moment. I hope you’ve all had time to rest and recharge in what is a relentless pursuit for news.

The new year’s all about looking to the future , so why show a photo of something that don’t exist anymore something from the past , we play at the London stadium now get over it , your becoming boring , boring , boring, , I have hope that we can get out of our football woes , why can’t you, stop hitting everyone with negative waves, the futures only just begun!?

Happy New Year to you guys also. Thanks for all your efforts in bringing us the latest news, gossip and opinions. Here’s to a much improved 2026 in football terms, although being the eternal pessimist, I can’t see anything but relegation.
