Happy Noble reckons Irons ready to take on best

Mark Noble now believes the Irons are ready to mix it with the top teams admitting: “There’s a feel good factor all around the club.”

He added that there had been talk of Manchester United staging a Title challenge this season but the Irons were showing via results that they are more than capable of taking on the best.

He said: “When you perform as well as we did today and take the three points you realise that you can take on and beat the top sides. There’ a self belief.”

Nobes had of course made it clear he believed Manuel Pellegrini could be at the club for a long time in an interview last week and the manager’s influence of the side is growing game by game.

The captain himself had an outstanding game in what was a top team performance but singled out Aaron Cresswell for words of praise.

Cress scored with a fabulous free kick and Noble said: He put in a great performance and that was a fantastic free kick -three clean sheets now, it’s all looking good.”

Cresswell admitted that his performance on the opening day in a 5-0 defeat by Man City simply wasn’t good enough adding: “Arthur came in and did well so I’m happy with today.”

  1. Let’s not get carried away here…..for me we should of done a whole lot better! Had it not been for a couple of great saves from our outstanding goal keeper, we would of let Utd back in to the game! What I don’t get is we spend 45 mil on a decent striker, but no one wants to pass to him!! We need to improve our passing, and put teams under more pressure, in my book.

  2. Good performance from the whole team today. Battled hard all over the pitch. Pleased as well for cresswell to come back and get a superb free kick to seal the points..

  3. I agree with Jeff. Apart from our two goals as team we were ordinary today and nothing to get too excited over. Haller was totally neglected up front. Fornals is not Lanzini’s replacement but Jack Wilshire could well be.
