Hartson on Hammers FA Cup chances

hartsonFormer Hammers favourite John Hartson  has cast his eye over today’s 3rd round tie for ClaretandHugh and gives his verdict on how things look likely to work out at the Boleyn today.

John’s the latest former hero to come on board with ClaretandHugh – we give him a massive welcome.

EXCLUSIVE

FA Cup ties can always been banana skins but I honestly can’t see the Irons slipping up against Wolves today.

The last thing you want to happen is to become part of all the national gloating and mickey taking on Match of the Day at this stage…and I don’t see it happening.

I have respect for Wolves boss Kenny Jackett who was at my local club Swansea, Watford, Wolves …and that other place in south London!

He’s apparently under pressure at Molineux as the team sits in 11th place in the Chapionship so I’m not really sure what the board up there expect.

I don’t see them getting a result at the Boleyn with Dimi Payet back and the team coming off a huge win against Liverpool. West Ham really are a very very good side.

Payet is as good a player as any I’ve seen. He can go both ways on the ball, sets up goals, scores goals and is brilliant at free kicks.

I tipped him as my player to make most impact in 2016 on MOTD and I see no reason to change that. He’s as good a player as has ever come to the PL.

West Ham can have a great cup run this year and I don’t see Slaven changing very much today. He has clearly made this a priority and I see no reason to bet against the Irons this year.

I see a 2-0 today. Let’s get the job done lads. We don’t need a Molineux replay as a fixture pile up will only hurt us in top six terms which I think is where we will finish.

Have a great afternoon everybody and COYI!
