He just won’t go away!

He just won’t go away !

Be afraid, very afraid !

It seems that David Moyes’s favourite poster-boy Harry Maguire will not go away.

As we now know the England international nearly joined West Ham United , after the Irons agreed a deal with the Manchester club for their former skipper. It all fell apart when Maguire and the club could not reach an agreement regarding the pay-off amount.

How does poor old Maguire cope on a paltry £200k per week?

Anyway, suffice to say; he has not managed to make a single appearance this season, and was not even part of the matchday squad against Tottenham Hotspur.

While the Irons, quite sensibly, have moved on and are in the process of finalising the paper work for Konstantinos Mavropanos, there is still the prospect of him moving to the London Stadium.

According to Foot Mercato, Ligue 1 side Rennes have renewed their interest in bringing back Nayef Aguerd with the player apparently also open to the move.

A year after leaving Rennes for West Ham, where he quickly established himself as an important player for David Moyes, the Moroccan international is linked to his former club where he is highly regarded.

“According to our sources, when West Ham started investigating the Maguire track this summer, Rennes, who are also targeting Davinson Sanchez and Rob Holding, positioned themselves to bring Aguerd back on loan to strengthen their defence. The 27-year-old defender is open to a return to Ligue 1.”

If Aguerd does end up leaving to join his former club, which we sincerely hope not – there still  remains the possibility that our Supremo could once again look at bringing the England star to the London Stadium.

Sick of Maguire, sick of Lingard, sick of Moyes obsession with these past their best older players that we should not be going near. Have a look at Brighton &, Brentford and ask yourself would these progressive clubs be going near Lingard or Maguire? Moyes has a very stubborn unhealthy obsession with these old, slow players.
