Leeds United have officially confirmed West Ham’s Martyn Glover as the club’s new head of recruitment at Elland Road. He is last senior member of Sam’s backroom team to leave the Hammers.
A Leeds club statement on the appoint of Glover read: “We would like to welcome Martyn Glover to Leeds United as the club’s new head of recruitment. Martyn, who arrives from West Ham United, will work closely with head coach Uwe Rosler and will be responsible for all aspects of the club’s scouting and recruitment. Martyn boasts a wealth of experience and expertise in his role, having spent four years at Upton Park and 13 years with Blackburn Rovers prior to that.”
Seen Sam’s man at West Ham Glover worked as assistant chief scout at Blackburn Rovers before being promoted by Allardyce to head of player recruitment at Ewood Park.
On his move to Leeds, Glover told the Yorkshire Evening Post: “It is nice to get things sanctioned one and for all and I can finally actually start to get on with the job. Obviously, things were coming to an end at West Ham and it was about trying to get something sorted and establish where I might be next. It came out of the blue (at Leeds) to some extent and it’s a nice opportunity and I am delighted”

Yeah i dont really have a problem with JOB.He is just not good enough for the prem.But he served a purpose in the Championship & when we came up.He always gave his best which i would rather see compared to Nolan plodding about like a chain smoking old fart.But we definately could do with him off the books.Wouldnt be surprised if he stayed though.One year left on his contract & with the europa league we could well need him 😉
I’d say JO’B was a good squad player in the championship he played pretty well and yes he does get tarred with the hippo brush but the truth is he’s just not good enough and we need him off the books. I wish him well because unlike KN he always tried and had a terrible run of injuries before us.
Fuck me i have seen far worse than O’Brien in our shirt,lol,he did what he to do in the championship & the first year up.Wish i was earning a prem wage for being a plodder.I would be happy as a pig in shit.Especially with the missus Joey has 😉
For once I can’t agree chicken,I think he is the most talentless plodder I have seen in a hammers shirt,he could not find a club on this planet until BFS brought him into the fold,
And we are stuck with him,Nolan and O,Brien will cost us next season there will be no takers and we can’t afford to have them take up squad numbers,

I feel a little sorry for O’Brien,he as always been reliable & takes shit because he is one of hippos boys.But i have never really had a problem with him.He has always tried his hardest for us to be fair 😉

If Glover needs a hand getting on at Leeds there’s a couple of young West Ham lads he should sign. One of them is a midfield dynamo with an eye for goal,he’s scored 99 already in his career and the other is a versatile international (yes it’s true) who can play full back,centre back or even midfield when you’re trying for 80 minutes to preserve your 1-0 lead there’s no better player.
