West Ham boss Manuel Pellegrini are understood to have Alexksander Mitrovic on the list of strikers whom director of football Mario Husillos could be working on this summer.
With Fulham relegated after the 4-1 defeat by Watford on Tuesday evening, the former Newcastle United striker is likely to be on the move.
And CandH has learned that the 24 year old is of interest to the Hammers as they look to revamp their strike force for the 2019/20 season.
Despite being relegated with six games of the season left, Mitrovic has managed 10 goals this season but scored 21 in the club’s promotion from the Championship last season.
A senior Hammers insider told us on the phone that he is a player of interest to the Hammers where he could link up with former team mate Ryan Fredericks who joined us on a free at the end of last season.
The snag however, is that whilst the player will be keen to move following relegation he has a three year contract with the south west London outfit which could see them put a hefty price tag on his head.
I like Mitrovic. Inise to always want him when swap rumours would come up with him and Carroll. Rafa froze him out which he does but he hired his own coach & kept is shape did great with Serbia when wasn’t playing for club. Even tho at 21-22 he scored some good goals in PL for Newcastle before relegated. He isn’t as hot headed now his not Arnie tall but better in air & has scored more goals then any if our players in a relegated team 10 goals & few aasists not bad. With our winners he will get assists in box & link up for them to score. Only 24yo still they paid £22m rising to £28m I think they will prob want £30m plus might take right at that bc he will prob want PL move & will have other suitors but hopefully he wants to stay in London I imagine Everton will be in too. PL experience physical some pace he can break & clinical finisher. I’d Much rather him then Belotti who I don’t think would suit PL & high priced Kouame too.
Ekambi I like from Villarreal was great with Angers.
But Fulham have a lot of talented players who they will lose bc loans like Schurrle Vieto etc then Sessegnon & even Babel who has been good for them. Anguissa is good but will prob take hit on him go back to ligue 1. Seri I think is a good player & of we could get a deal on I would take need a CM who can pass & get fwd. Cairney will will prib get picked up too. Set for a big rebuild & I’m ok we didn’t spend £30m+ on Mawson.
*Maybe offer Hugill & some cash he could be plan B knows championship….
Albeit, with the notable exception of Terence Brown, the two current incumbents have taken far more out of the club than any other, imo.
We should flying high with the financial advantage of 25,000 extra fans at home games,no Stadium refurb/rebuild/ capacity increase costs, other than a nominal rent and some personalised decor! Plus minimal training facility investment – Instead we appear to be pleading poverty.
i’ve always thought fair play to the Icelanders. they bought the club and had a go…..they might of messed it up but at least they tried to push us forward…..
i remember when we got relegated in 2003 and the club with chairmen like Terrence Brown gave our best players away for joke amounts of money then was investigated for corruption and then sold our club and made a 34m profit. and because of this we have never recovered, so try buying players for big bucks is always out of our league, we will pick up the frees and the has beens, we should build a statue of our past rapist chairmen including the Icelandicks just so we can spit at them when we walk past.
