Henry looks a cert Anfield FA Cup starter

donielNew Hammer Doneil Henry looks certain to play a part in tomorrow afternoon’s massive FA Cup clash between his loan club Blackbirn Rovers and Liverpool at Anfield tomorrow afternoon.

Rovers boss Gary Bowyer says he would have absolutely no problem pitching the youngster into action after the £1.5 million Hammers signing was man of the match for the team on his debut at Sheffield Wednesday.

Bowyer is definitely without three defenders – Jason Lowe, Shane Duffy and Alex Baptiste – meaning Henty looks certain to start.

Bowyer said: “Full credit to Doneil and his character. He’s been brought in to play games for us and we have to thank West Ham for allowing him to come to us.

“Everybody at West Ham spoke very highly of him and his performance on Wednesday backed that up. We wouldn’t have any problems playing him on Sunday against Liverpool.”

Henry is relishing the prospect of being involved in the last-eight tie against Liverpool saying: “When we get the test on Sunday, I think we’ll definitely be ready.

“There’s a lot of quality players in here so I think if we can go there and do our job, as long as we stay together as a team, it’s definitely possible to get a result.

“I’m not going to shy away from the opportunity. These are the games where you can really see how far you are from the top level.”
