We are going to have to wait until tomorrow night to discover our fourth round FA Cup opponents but already the excitement in building.
All of us will be waiting to hear West Ham No 22 when former Republic international Robbie Keane and his former Wolves team-mate Carl Ikeme make the draw.
And ahead of the draw co chairman David Gold told ClaretandHugh: “I’m hoping we draw any non Premier League club at home. That seems the way forward!
“We haven’t always had the best of luck in these situations but it goes in streaks sometimes and after Birmingham it’s a case of fingers crossed.
“We are a good team and with players on the way back we have every chance of progressing in the competition.
“The Blues match was well fought and we did well so we have to be confident we can continue our run but a nice home draw would be perfect.”
Among the numbers we will be looking to avoid will be 6 (Man United), 8 (Spurs) 11 (Chelsea) 19 (Arsenal) and 20 (Manchester City).
I agree, probably not worth mentioning that Keane once played for West Ham. Did he really play for us? No that’s right he didn’t.
