Here’s the likely Irons team

Hammers badgeWe’ve had our ear close to the ground for the last couple of days and watching those wearing the green bibs in training.

As a result here’s how we believe the Irons are likely to line up against Birkirkara in tonight’s Europa Cup second round qualifying game at the Boleyn.

Irons (probable): Adrian; O’Brien, Reid, Tomkins, Cresswell; Obiang, Noble, Nolan, Amalfitano, Maiga, Zarate

The game kicks off at 7.45

The green bib theory worked well,10 out of 11 wasnt a bad call 😉

    4-0

Yeah but I guess he is the only real player in NZ, I guess he is shy but some players lead by example others by shouting and gee-Ing up others. He ain’t my ideal captain by a long way cuz that would be Billy Bonds for me but maybe the best we currently have …..

  • fobyac says:

Reid is a very shy man though by all accounts, although doesn’t he captain the NZ side?

  • Dainon says:

Reid captain I would have thought, not many others would command a guaranteed starting position this season

Hat trick of misses & i will take a bet 😉

  • COYI@HK Ching says:

Anyone favouring a bet on a Maiga hat trick 😉

I am more surprised at the opportunities being given to Maiga, given his track record with us since we signed him. Maybe Bilic sees something we don’t

  • fobyac says:

I suppose Nolan is still the club skipper until the real suff starts.

We don’t have a stand out candidate as a replacement captain yet do we

Re: Nolan – Slav using these matches as a shop window for him? or…he has impressed mightily in training? His still has the armband…

  • fobyac says:

I’d like to have seen Oxford and Lee get another go, I think they deserved it, but Slavs obviously using these games as a pre season fitness work out too.
My only concern is can anyone see where the goals are going to come from?

No place for the boys now, that we a quick I suppose if we can get a good lead tonight the boys will come back in next week,
Obviously we don’t want to take any chances with getting nicked out
Still finding it hard to understand Nolan on the pitch, why start by giving the opposition a extra man,
    Can’t have everything
