Hero Daws admits to a worry

Craig Dawson – as has said many times – was probably the buy of last season …well Harry Redknapp said it at least four times. 🙂

And today he again showed that he still has so much to offer a Hammers team of which he has become  an integral first team members.

His last minute (or so ) equaliser at Leicester was so important and gave the boys a point they hadn’t  looked likely to gain in what had become a very one sided second 45 minutes as the home side called the tune.

His second goal in 31 appearances was one of the scruffiest he’s ever likely to score but who cares – a quick var check allowed it and Daws was our hero – not for the first time.

And afterwards he was happy to give his views on the goal and the game to www.whufc.com as the Hammers advanced their fourth position ahead of  Manchester United by just one point.

He said: “Of course [it was an important goal]. We were working hard to get the goal, and luckily enough it went in.

“I was slightly worried [about the VAR check], but it counted, so that’s all that matters. It was a fair point for us today.”

“Set-pieces are something we work hard on. It was a great ball into the box and luckily it went in. The manager made a couple of changes which helped us out, and the lads put a shift in to the end. I think a point was a fair result in the end.

“It’s going to be a tough battle [for Europe], we know that. We’ll just keep working hard and taking every game as it comes.

“We’ve got another tough game next week [at home to Newcastle United], so we’ll prepare well this week.”
